Embroidery And Beading All Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up first. I liked the peace and quiet (with except to Sophie) in the morning. After getting my shower, I got moving on getting a few things done before my class. I had to get a few QOV stuff done. We are trying to get the new program to add requests for groups. I was able to send one thing off to Cindy today. Then I was getting my supplies ready for our class.

Noon - had to be ready and in class. We had a deaf person in the group. There were interpreters. At first it ...

Beads Arrived from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up earlier than normal. Guess I've been thinking about the cruise Patrick wants to go on. I'm exited about it, even though I will have to take Dramamine to get through it. It will be fun to take a cruise. Not sure I like the idea of being away from Sophie that long, but we'll see. It's in the talking stage. lol

I worked on my game most of the day. Patrick worked on the bathrooms and I got laundry going. Just pretty much relaxed all day. The good news was that ...

Aughhh.... from Val's Quilting Studio

The first rainy day of Fall....just makes everything feel so much better!

New slippers in the mail from my mom also keep my toes warm for a cozy afternoon of binding.
I have found teaching in a comprehensive distant model to be weirdly exhausting emotionally.
Zoom, Google Meets are common place forms of communication and teaching.
By the weekend, I'm just done. I hoping as the rain clears tomorrow to go for a long mountain hike to enjoy the fresh air, beautiful Fall leaves and rejuvenate my heart and head. How about you.? How do you keep yourself ...

Not One Of My Better Days.....But It Wasn't Because Of Me from Quilting My Way

Today started out with me going over to Nancy's since mom is in Las Vegas - or Utah now that I think of it. Mom's at the cabin in Utah with my 2 brothers and their wives.

Nancy and I did some stitching to start out. She told me of her son having back issues and was going to the doctors today. So, while we were stitching he was texting what was going on. He was going to help her get all her cabinets taken out so the new cabinets would go in on Monday. The doctors first thought ...

Happy Mail from From My Carolina Home

Last month, I decided to send out a few Happy Mail cards and packages to friends and family for the Easter holiday.  Then a few days ago, happy mail arrived for me!  What a fun and welcome surprise.   My friend, Val, found a quilt kit she thought I might like, complete with all the fabrics needed in just the colors I enjoy.  The huge paper pattern shows placement of the appliques, which will be raw edge fusible.

Happy Mail at FromMyCarolinaHome.com

A closer look, the pattern is on the left, pretty flowers and a birdhouse with two birds.  It looks like a fun project ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Taking Joy in the Little Things... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

If you're anything like me, you really lose track of the days lately - but it is finally Friday, and that means that it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!  Are you ready?  Let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

It has been a week full of little things that added up to a good bit of joy....

Like seeing AT&T finally burying our connection to U-Verse and the internet (it's only been ten weeks, after all!)

Receiving some pretty awesome happy mail - a handmade seam ripper from @craftyann59 (her husband makes them) AND a ...

Sending Happy Mail from From My Carolina Home

In this age of internet everything, and the current situation making us even more dependent on it, what could be a nice surprise?  Happy mail delivered to your door!  Happy mail can obviously be a homemade card, but there are lots of other ideas as well that I’d like to share today.  Anything sent by mail can qualify as Happy Mail.  Perhaps a quilt pattern sent to a friend, or an article from a magazine.  My mother in law used to send me articles from her magazines as she subscribed to different ones than I did.  A pretty garden ...

productivity . . . from Count it *all* JOY!

It's been a productive week and I've gotten in some quality time towards my crafts (and I use that word in the highest sense of its definition) almost every day, thanks to some lunch time stitching.  In the class I'm taking we started to put together our first block, which I was able to finish:
It's a small class this go around, which is nice ... everyone gets the one-on-one if they need it. I'm learning some new things, too, which is awesome!

I decided to go ahead and make a fabric spreadsheet, to help me ...

swap happy . . . from Count it *all* JOY!

It's said that it's better to give than to receive, and believe me, I'm all about that. But if you've ever been in a swap with Janet of Rogue Quilter fame, you know it's awesome to receive, too!  Janet and I did a little swap between our birthdays (mine is early in October and hers is later in November). I stitched up a mug rug for her and she stitched up one of her marvelous pin cushions for me. We both stayed in our comfort zones!
Along with this beautiful pin cushion (which reminds me ...
